Robert Shields and Lorene Yarnell get married in Union Square

KPIX-TV news footage from October 27, 1972 with reporter Pat O'Brien featuring scenes from the marriage of mime artists Robert Shields and Lorene Yarnell at San Francisco's Union Square, officiated by actor Scott Beach. After Shields puts the wedding ring on Yarnell's finger, Beach hugs them and declares: "I call upon you to witness that these two beloved have exchanged their vows and are husband and wife!" The bridal couple remain silent throughout their ceremony, witnessed by 1200 onlookers and after dancing a jig to celebrate, are driven away in a vintage Rolls Royce.
