KPIX Eyewitness News report from August 10th 1967 in San Francisco featuring a brief excerpt from an interview with Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. who states he disagrees with Stokely Carmichael's belief that violent struggle is needed to achieve racial equality. He does however acknowledge that: "The young militants are in the revolutionary spirit. And they are concerned about revolutionizing certain values ... that need to be revolutionized." King also goes on to criticize: "The vacillation and ambivalence of white America on the whole question of genuine equality for the black man."
