Plans for the Filoli Estate (1975)

KRON-TV news fotoage from June 8, 1975 with reporter Melba Beals featuring a visit to the Filoli Estate (aka Bourn-Roth Estate), just south of the Upper Crystal Springs Reservoir, off Canada Road in San Mateo County. In March the owner Lurline Matson Roth (1890-1985) decided to turn down a private offer to buy Filoli and declared her intenton that it be preserved for public use, eventually donating the estate in its entirety to the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Includes external views of the house and extensive grounds and also an interview with San Mateo County Supervisor William Royer (1920-2013), who explains how this property might be used.
