Episode from KRON-TV's Bay Area Decades series made in 1997 and presented by Suzanne Shaw which uses original news footage and contemporary interviews to reflect on Bay Area history from the 1960s including issues relating to: the Summer of Love; Civil Rights and the Black Panther Party; the Free Speech Movement and student protests; rock music and the Vietnam War. Also features interviews with Senator Dianne Feinstein; Mayor Willie Brown; Jerry Rubin; Jack Weinberg; Bettina Aptheker; Country Joe McDonald; Carol Doda; Doug Caraway; Rich Bandoni; Bill Graham; Carlos Santana; Peter Coyote; Bobby Seale and Kathleen Cleaver. This program was written and produced by Pam Rorke Levy narrated by Sydney Walker and edited by Dave Vandergriff. This Emmy Award winning series traced the rich history of San Francisco from the Gold Rush to the 21st Century. Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.
