Description
KPIX Eyewitness News report from March 7th 1969 in San Francisco by Belva Davis featuring a technology program at Woodrow Wilson High School (now called Philip & Sala Burton High School). A spokesman for the "EDP Squared" program is interviewed which is aimed at motivating students with reading and mathematics. He states that student interaction with IBM technology: "Gives them an insight into the real world. The world of tomorrow. Because with these machines you can control the world of tomorrow. Because this is where the future lies: in data processing in computer sciences." Also includes views of African American students working with IBM equipment and of Assemblyman John L. Burton speaking with teachers.
