Description
KPIX Eyewitness news report from July 1st 1967 featuring a press conference in which boxer Muhammad Ali and others discuss their proposals for a boxing tournament to raise money for projects in the community. Ali was recently banned from boxing for three years on June 20th 1967 for refusing the Vietnam Draft. He speculates that over one million dollars could be raised but warns that: "The people are hungry now. They can't sit back and wait three years for a bunch of slow flat footed heavyweights."
