KPIX Eyewitness News report from December 13th 1970 by Ed Arnow featuring an interview with a spokesman who discusses how unions and African American contractors are reacting to new Alameda County rules covering the construction of minority housing units. He is specifically referring to the building of 79 low cost housing units in West Oakland that will be constructed entirely by minority contractors with non-profit sponsorship coming from the local Minority Contractors Association. He states that: "This is the first time in this country that the Minority Contractors Association is the sponsor of one of these types of projects." Please note: the TV news camera was slightly out of focus when originally filming this interview.
