Description
KPIX Eyewitness News report from October 10th 1969 by Ben Williams in Sacramento featuring an interview with California's Lieutenant Governor Edwin Reinecke who explains his idea of using DMV computers to help track vehicles suspected of smuggling drugs. Also includes views of the computers processing information and an editorial by Williams who points out that shortly after his interview with Reinecke government officials announced plans to abandon Operation Intercept (which targeted drug trafficking across the border with Mexico).
