Interview with long-distance cyclist Heinz Stücke (1971)

KRON-TV news footage from March 26, 1971 with reporter Mike Mills featuring scenes from an interview with long-distance cyclist Heinz Stücke in downtown San Francisco. Stücke cycled out of his hometown in Germany - Hövelhof - in 1962 and explains he's traveling so extensively around the world: "For the sake of getting to know the place." Stücke also speculates that he will return home to Germany in a year or so but in fact didn't cycle back to Hövelhof until 2014... Ends with views of Stücke cycling off towards the Bay Bridge. This 16mm reversal film print was scanned in 4K (4096 x 2970) using a Lasergraphics ScanStation film scanner, in March 2023.
