Description
KRON-TV news footage from July 12, 1977 with reporter Fred LaCosse featuring scenes from an interview with San Francisco socialite Joan Hitchcock (1932-1982), from her boudoir at 2104 Broadway in Pacific Heights. Hitchcock describes her "ideal man", offers advice on how to handle a "jealous man" and suggests the best way to manage breakups. She also talks about her 4 marriages and imagines how she'd put together the "ultimate party." Note that Hitchcock would eventually marry a total of 6 times, hosted the Ch.20 TV show called "Swingles Scene" in late 1972 (which only lasted for a few weeks) and also ran for the San Francisco Board of Supervisors in 1975, finishing in the lower half of a field of 29 candidates. We don't have the film elements for part II of "this week's San Franciscan" report, which LaCosse previews at the end of this clip. Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.

Thanks to Paul Penna for positively identofying Fred LaCosse.
