Grateful Dead concert in Panhandle (1967)

KRON-TV news footage from April 9, 1967 featuring brief silent and sound scenes of the Grateful Dead rock band playing an outdoor concert in San Francisco's Panhandle, next to the Haight-Ashbury district. Includes views of Jerry Garcia playing guitar and singing and of a large crowd with people dancing. According to the San Francisco Chronicle newspaper, this concert began just after 1:00pm on that Sunday afternoon. Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.

This 16mm reversal print was scanned in 4K (4096 x 2970) using a Lasergraphics ScanStation film scanner, in December 2024.
