Dicks Cafe hires women bartenders

KRON-TV news footage from May 28, 1971 featuring scenes from Dicks Cafe in the Castro District, which has hired two women bartenders following yesterday's ruling by the California Supreme Court, which struck down a law making it a misdemeanor for any woman to serve alcoholic drinks in a bar. Includes interviews with the bartenders and views of patrons enjoying themselves. As one of the woemn bartenders points out: "Where I'm from in Tennessee, we've had 'em, forever, so it's not different to me. There the men prefer women over men, tendin' bar."
