Description
KPIX news footage from March 11 1972 with reporter Ben Williams, who has travelled to Gary, Indiana with California's delegation to cover the National Black Political Convention, being held at West Side High School. Includes views of the convention, voice-over from Williams who summarizes the issues at stake and an interview with Assemblyman Willie Brown, leader of the California delegation. Brown states: "Our delegation will try as best we can to assist in establishing a national structure that's representative of the black community." Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.
