Overview
Meredith Eliassen, a member of the SF State Safe Zone Ally Program and longtime Special Collections & Archives librarian, will give a presentation about aspects of LGBTQIA+ history on the SF State campus.
She will delve into the history of advocacy on campus, primarily through the establishment of the first AIDS Coordinating Committee within the CSU system and its effect on how people think about advocacy today.
At the end of the presentation, participants can tour the AIDS Memorial Grove together.
This event is recommended for those who have attended Safe Zone training in the past AND for anyone interested in SF State history. All are welcome!
RSVP by emailing Rick Nizzardini, Safe Zone Committee member.
