Description
KPIX-TV news footage from October 19, 1971 with reporter Ed Arnow featuring an interview with a spokesperson for Synanon at their Potrero Hill center in San Francisco, who states they have expanded their facilities and can accept another 300 drug addicts for rehabilitation in the next 60 days. When Arnow asks about their methods for treating drug addiction, the spokesperson replies: "The method is to set up an environment that enables people to successfully negotiate with life without the aid of chemical supports."
