Announcements from the Chair

The Library is an academic department and provider of academic support to the SF State community of students, faculty, and staff. Our expert library faculty teach information literacy, including how to access, evaluate, and use information; consult with faculty, students, and staff on research, information and scholarly communications issues; select and purchase information resources for students’ coursework and research; and organize and make available the Library's information resources, including collections of digital and print books and articles, historical primary source materials, and online databases.

J. Paul Leonard Library Workers Statement on Anti-Racism

Workers of the J. Paul Leonard Library affirm that Black lives matter and condemn the murders of Breonna Taylor, George Floyd and countless Black people at the hands of the police. We stand in solidarity with the protesters calling for the abolition of police terror and violence, and acknowledge the role that white power structures, including libraries, have played in systemic racism. As JPLL library workers, we will take actions to support Black Lives Matter and help dismantle the machinery of white supremacy.
