Description
KRON-TV news footage from October 9, 1964 featuring scenes from the opening pageant of San Francisco's 4-day Columbus Day festivities, in Union Square. Includes views of Joe Cervetto in costume as Christopher Columbus, an Italian fashion show of women's outfits from the time of Columbus and a performance by tenor Enzo Stuarti, who is interrupted by a loud noise. Stuarti grimaces, stops singing and quips: "I didn't know my agent was gonna be here ... I hope they were Italian bullets." Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.

This 16mm b&w negative film was scanned in 4K (4096 x 2970) using a Lasergraphics ScanStation film scanner, in September 2023.
