In celebration of Black History Month, the Library’s Digital Scholarship Center is hosting a Black Lives Matter Wikipedia edit-a-thon on Friday, February 26, from 3:00-4:30 pm PST. This will be an opportunity to help improve Wikipedia’s coverage of articles relating to Black artists and athletes, the civil rights movement, and other historical figures and events, inspired by the Black Lives Matter WikiProject and Black WikiHistory Month.
No experience is necessary, and this edit-a-thon is open to all students, staff, and faculty from San Francisco State University, Cal Poly San Luis Obisbo, CSU East Bay, and CSU Fullerton.
To receive the Zoom information, please register for this event. Note that attendance will be limited to the first 45 people who register, but additional registrants will be added to a waitlist for future edit-a-thons.
Please take a couple of minutes to create a Wikipedia account before the session if you do not already have one.
If you have questions, would like further information, or cannot attend this event but would be interested in future edit-a-thons, please consult the Digital Scholarship Center’s Wikipedia in the Virtual Classroom guide or email us at
