Working in the Library

Thank you for your interest in student employment at the J. Paul Leonard Library. The Library is a pleasant work environment and is very popular with students seeking campus employment. We have a limited number of positions available each semester. We encourage you to apply for other campus positions as well.

Work Eligibility Requirements

Before you can be hired for a Student Assistant job, you need to complete the I-9 (Employment Eligibility Verification) process. To complete the process, go to the Dean of Students office, SSB 403, Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Two pieces of documentation are required:

  1. A photo ID that establishes identity, such as a state-issued driver's license or a state-issued ID card with photograph.
  2. Documents that establish employment eligibility, such as a Social Security card, a birth certificate, or a valid passport. Documents presented must be originals, not copies.

International Students

Prior to starting work, you must see the Office of International Programs, the tax specialist in Internal Audit, and the Dean Of Students. International students must have a Social Security number in order to be paid.
