Masters Theses and Dissertations Collection
The Masters Theses Collection includes both masters theses and dissertations written by San Francisco State graduate students as part of their degree requirements.
Using the Collection
Printed and bound copies of recent theses and dissertations are available on the 3rd floor, older print copies may be requested from the Library Retrieval System. Recent theses and dissertations are available online with the author's permission in ScholarWorks. When we do not have the permission of the author, a detailed metadata record is available in ScholarWorks. For older theses an archival copy on microfiche is located in Special Collections on the 4th floor.
The Division of Graduate Studies sets the Thesis / Dissertation / Written Creative Work / Music Composition guidelines and procedures. After your theses / dissertation is approved by Graduate Studies and any required fees have been paid the Library will produce one bound copy of your thesis / dissertation, which can then be checked out by anyone with borrowing privileges. An electronic copy is also uploaded to ScholarWorks. With your permission, the electronic copy is downloadable by the public. You can also indicate whether there should be an "embargo" period before the electronic copy becomes available to download.
For additional bound copies, go to Ctrl+P digital print shop, on the Mezzanine Level of the Cesar Chavez Student Center, Room M110.
