Library Accounts & PIN

While remote access to Library resources now requires only your University ID and password, and no longer requires a Library PIN, there are still good reasons to create your Library Account, and an ILLiad account, to get the most from Library services, on campus and off.

Primary Library Account

Library Account Login

Log into your primary Library Account to renew books, place holds on checked out items, see what you have checked out, update your contact information, check whether you have any Library fines, and more. To set up your Library Account and choose a PIN, click the link above.

To login you need a valid OneCard / SF State ID number and a Library PIN.

PIN

Create Library PIN

Create your Library Personal Information Number (PIN) by clicking on the link above, entering a 4 digit number of your choice in the Enter your PIN field, then following the directions displayed on the screen.

Forgot your PIN? Create a new one at the link above. Click Forgot your PIN?

Why do you need a PIN?

  • To sign in to use computers in the Library
  • To login to your Library account to renew items, see fines, etc.
  • To use Link+ to request books from other libraries
  • To check out books at the SelfCheck machine

ILLiad Account

You need to create an account before you can use ILLiad to borrow books and other items, or get copies of articles, from other libraries.

Guest Accounts

Members of the general public can get access to Library computers by signing up for a Guest ID at the Book Checkout & Pickup Desk. Guest computers are located in the Research Commons of the Library. Use is limited to 2 hours per day, per person.
