Library Tours & Computer Access for Welcome Days

The Library will offer guided tours for Welcome Days on Friday, Aug. 24 from 9am-1pm.  Meet at the marked sign in the Library lobby, near the cafe.  In addition, parents and  students are invited to use computers in the Library to check email, flight status, etc.  Open computers are located in the Research Commons, Library first floor.

Link+ Downtime Saturday, August 4th

The Link+ service, which allows our users to borrow books we don’t have from nearby libraries, will be down this Saturday night, August 4th from 8pm until Midnight. During this time you will not be able to search for or request books in the Link+ system. Our Library Catalog will not otherwise be affected. This downtime will allow Link+ to upgrade their network hardware and to improve their overall network infrastructure.

Video / Audio Editing Temporarily Unavailable

The Video / Audio editing stations currently in the Study Commons will be unavailable Thursday, May 31 and Friday, June 1 while they are moved into the new Digital Media Studio which opens Monday, June 4.

J. Paul Leonard Library Building Floors Ground-Four Open

On Monday, March 26, floors Ground through Four of the Leonard Library opened to the University community.  Most Library and Academic Technology services are now available. They include over 3000 seats for quiet and group study, over 250 public computers, audio and video editing equipment, and extended hours study areas with group study rooms.  The Research Commons on the First floor will be open 24/7 through Thursday, May 17.  The Study Commons on the Ground floor will be open from 8:00 am-2:00 am Mon.-Fri., and from 10:00 am-2:00 am Sat. and Sun.  Most other areas of the Library will be open Mon.-Thurs. 8 am-10 pm, Fri. 8 am-6 pm, Sat. 10 am-6 pm, and Sun. 12 noon-9 pm.

Pardon Our Noise: Deliveries and Installation of Shelving April 5 – May 4

Deliveries of collections and shelving will occur through the 1st floor Holloway Ave. entrance and Research Commons the mornings of April 5 – May 4. Students may wish to relocate to the Study Commons on the Ground floor when it reopens at 8:00 a.m.

 

Students may wish to relocate to quiet study areas on floors Ground, 1 and 4.

Books from Library Retrieval System Now Available within 15-20 Minutes

Students and faculty will continue to request books they want from the Library Retrieval System using the online catalog, but the books should now be available within 15-20 minutes.  Eligible borrowers can request books any time 24/7 from any computer anywhere using the online catalog and have the books waiting for them to pick up when they next come to the Library.  Requested items are held on the LRS Book Pickup shelves for six calendar days.  Books not picked up within six days are returned to the collection.
