Wireless Printing in the Library

May 27th, 2011

You can now send prints to Leonard Library printers in Annex I and HSS127 from your laptop computer using the SF State wireless network. No more email, USB drives or waiting for a computer necessary! Send your document from your laptop anywhere on campus where wireless access is available, then walk to the library wireless print stations, enter your password and print.

Currently the system only allows Windows, not Mac or 64 bit Windows. You will need to download and install software on your computer, but it’s easy! You’ll need a OneCard or Guest Card with value on it to pay for the prints, 7ยข a sheet. Add value to your cards at machines in Library Annex I or HSS127, bills only.

Follow the directions for the software install on your computer here.

The wireless printing sounds great. When will it be available for the Mac?

    What about Macs?

Wow, this is such an improvement! However, do realize that most of us are using a 64-bit Windows or Mac OS X, so…

That’s nice, but Macs are the main computer sold at the SFSU bookstore. The fact that Macs aren’t supported by a service as wonderful and useful as wireless printing in the library is a huge disincentive toward buying a computer at the bookstore.

Ditto Mac request, and also 64 bit processors. These restrictions keep a sizable percentage of students from accessing this service.

Bold texts on the limitations would be nice too.
