Library Building Project – 8/22/08 Update

August 22nd, 2008

As you no doubt will notice as soon as you return to campus, the Library building expansion and renovation project is well underway. The construction fences surrounding the Library may give you the impression that we are closed, but this is not the case!

The Library is open for business, and starting Monday August 25th we will resume our regular semester hours.

Also, beginning Monday, August 25th:

  • The Mini MAC Lab opens in Lib 438 with 32 Macintosh computers to provide some of the computer capacity for students that is no longer available in the former Media Access Center Computer Lab on the 3rd floor.
  • The Library Ground floor will be accessed only by elevator after August 24.  The Ground floor entrance/exit on the north/quad will become an emergency exit only.
  • The Reserve Book Room will continue to occupy the Ground floor, but the hours will change to match those of the Main Library.
  • AT Media Services will continue to operate from the Ground floor until their new space in Burk Hall is ready.

Thank you.

keep it open until at least the end of the semester! the school will be a disaster with nowhere for people to study if there is no library! not to mention it will be hell finding books.

How did the reno go? When I went there the library was always the worst place to be – I bet that changed!
