Music of the Italian Masters

Marking the Frank V. de Bellis Collection’s fiftieth anniversary, the J. Paul Leonard Library is producing an exhibit, Music of the Italian Masters: Sight, Sound, Emotion. The exhibit will highlight music holdings dating back to the 1450s including unique manuscripts and unpublished works of the Neapolitan school, first editions of Baroque chamber music, instrumental and vocal music, opera scores and libretti, along with antique instruments and sound recordings of the twentieth century. The exhibit will feature a short video of SF State faculty member Dr. Victoria Neve performing works by Muzio Clementi (1652-1832) on a historic Clementi forte piano manufactured in 1808.

We invite the public to explore the Collection’s rich resources. The exhibit, Music of the Italian Masters: Sight, Sound, Emotion, was produced with generous support from the Friends of the J. Paul Leonard Library.

Library Room 462
