This is awfu. I have been looking for the Annex where the commputer lab is since this morning at eight o'oclock. I was directed to computer lab in HSS which it turned out it has a class untill 9am, but they did not have a scan which I needed. I went back to the reseved book section and they told me to go to the business computer lab so I waited untill it open at nine. However they do not have any scan either. So I decided to go to the Annex. I asked about twenty people and got different answered and was directed different ways on campus today. Then I decided to come here to the one student stop and looked it up on the computer. Now I hope I will find it now.

Why did they put the place everyone use all the time at this cornner away and so inconveninent to everyne? I do not know. You expect that they put this place, some where it is acessable to everyone. This is so inconvenient.

I suggest the Library Aministrators make arrangements for students and faculty to fully use facilities at other local campuses, such as USF. Currently we cannot use anything in their library but the seats and chairs they provide for the homeless. Some extended access is available for a not so moderate fee, and aren't we already paying enough fees??
I use the library the way most of us do - as a constant resource, and often in the short breaks between classes. I'm a Kinesiology Major and love to exercise, but I don't always have the 15 minutes to schlep across campus - I need to get a project done right away. Browsing through the books is a part of that process, which is why I suggest we are given access to the USF library. At least, for some advance notice, we can get something done.
I don't believe the current "arrangements" are going to be effective or helpful for students in the fall.
I strongly recommend the Library Administrators make arrangements for students and faculty to fully use facilities - books, computers and study rooms, at other local campuses, such as USF ASAP.
Otherwise, I have to agree with Xavier (#1).

It is sad for those of us who like the hidden study nooks they have in the current but progress as usual continues to plow ahead. I think the current administration has forgotten how important is id to have a quiet study place for student's to go (esp. those of us with noisy families or neighborhoods) to. Obviously, not too much thought has been given to the fact that this particular university's students need some time of interim library desperately.

Hi,
I am currently taking a summer course. I need a place to go to study and there isnt anything available after 11pm. I work full time and can't study during the day. What is available to us? Is there going to be a 24 quiet study room available? There is so much construction going on it's very difficult to stay focus. Even public libraries don't close at 7pm!!! THis is extremely frustrating. There will be a riot if you guys don't come up with a solution. This is unacceptable. I don't pay almost 3000$ a semester for this!!! You guys should of thought of a better idea before deciding to take the current library down!!! Not to mention you didnt tell incoming freshmen about this.

What about the journals etc.? What about microfiche? What about the important step of browsing through the stacks of books while doing research? So often the books I use the most are not found through the catalogue, but while browsing on the nearby shelves.
