I studied in the library annex once and probably wont make the treck over there again. The distance is not so much an issue for me. I would be more than willing to take the extra walk if I knew I was walking to an actual library with library atmosphere. It feels more like what someone said above: a cafeteria. People seem to think since there are no quiet signs, that it's ok to talk. It was impossible for me to concentrate, the free earplugs didnt work, and the library staff were understanding but not at all helpful in quieting the crowd down. There needs to be some sort of regulation on the noise like a normal library. Otherwise it seems pointless to me. I wont be going back until this changes and I hope it does, as a lack of a library is one more service that I seem to be losing from my so-called educational institution while my fees continue to go up. This is really frustrating and demoralizing. I feel like I'm being frauded, paying more for less than I was guaranteed when I chose to attend SFSU.

Spacious but location is inconvenient and situated in an area where dangerous things can happen...especially at NIGHT! Also vending machines would be beneficial for everybody. To be honest, I hate studying at the annex because the location is inconvenient, parking is ridiculous, the study space is noisy and although there is security up front...shady shit still happens. Please address these issues. Thanks in advance!

I took a site tour of the campus, and ended here in the annex. The multi-use space is awesome. However, the lighting is actually disruptive over the MAC lab. It is too bright, or the wrong type of bulbs are used because I get a constant glare.

But, overall the space is very user friendly.

Thank you SFSU:)

I love the big open space, people can get noisy with their cell phones at times, but I have gotten use to it.

Compared to the Main Library, this one beats it by its simplicity.

About walking to and from the Annex, I walked up and down the stairs in the Main Library, in order to find a open table where I could sit comfortably for hours, so please stop complaining about the walk. The open space in this library allows me to go hungry and the sound of my stomach growling wont bother anyone because of the noise that vibrates off the pillow walls.

Improvements you guys can do is have shuttles more frequently, have maybe a lighted path for the late night students for a sense of security.

The annex is way too far. My grades are actually slipping this semester because I can't find a comfortable place to study for longs periods of time, and I am not willing to walk all the way over to the annex because I have to take the M home on 19th Ave, and when it is cold at night it just takes too long. The humanities building needs to keep their computer labs open longer and create more space for people study。 Those windows rooms are not enough and are way to crowded, + people don't see that space as a quiet space so it is always noisy. Also the MACS need to have better language support. Typing Chinese on a default MAC software is ridiculous.

One more thing, how can you have machines that require single dollar bills for copy cards, but not make it possible for us to get change to purchase them? We need some kind of change machine as well. What are students who are up at 2 a.m. working on a paper to do when their card runs out of money then don't have change to add to it to finish printing?

It rained yesterday. And the day before. Waiting for the shuttle for 30 minutes in the pouring rain can be unhealthy. Walking in the rain with 20+ mph winds against you can be difficult, if not unhealthy. I suggest that when the weather is bad, there is automatically an increase in the number of riders. Would (you?) at least increase the frequencies of the shuttles during times of bad weather?

Also, the signage about getting a permit for lot 19, just outside the Annex, is not good. People are not reading the sign and are putting the night permit in their car thinking it is a day pass. We get many people asking about parking outside and we generally suggest they use the first 3 floors of the parking structure. Maybe a sign like "Evening permits from machine not valid from 7am-6 pm?"

Thank you

The study area is not quiet, people talk there and it makes it impossible to study, I'm not able to concentrate even with my free earplugs in(which are uncomfortable). I've talked to other people and they say the same thing. The study area needs to be quiet and there needs to benches and places to socialize outside. The light in the northeast corner of the library needs to be fixed. There needs to be quiet signs put up that were in the library before it was closed.

Not a good place to study. There is a persistent cacophony of distracting noise. From the constant slamming of the bathroom doors to the chatter of students talking on the phone not to mention the group discussions that are held there, one might mistake this 'library' as a high school cafeteria. The library staff is indifferent to the prevalent noise so I don't study there anymore.
