If the books you requested were in the Library Retrieval System (LRS) then you will have to wait. But if they were not in the LRS then they should be ready to pick up when you would normally expect them to be.

If we have already requested books through the catalog, will we still be able to pick those up after Monday? Or would I have to wait for that as well?

Unfortunately, we did not have a choice about the timing for this relocation. However, all of the online services will be available until 8:00 a.m. on Monday, March 19, and only requests for books from the Library Retrieval System are affected on Monday. We will move the servers that affect access to databases, full text electronic journal articles, the online catalog and other services starting at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20. If the relocation of the servers goes smoothly as we expect it will, the services should be available again some time on Wednesday, March 21, but we did not want to promise that.

Perhaps our professors could have been notified of this in time to reschedule due dates for paper. I have two papers due the first Tuesday after spring break, and I’m now being told I have to go to San Jose to conduct my research. Give me a break.

Yes. All databases will be unavailable. But there is a pretty good chance that all of the servers, including access to the databases, will be up by Wednesday morning.

Does this include access to EBSCOhost databases?
