If students are sending/retrieving documents from the Black and White/ WiFi Printer, they may see a long print queue (with Job Name and Owner columns). This is because it displays ALL requests sent from any floor of the Library, including:
1. Library WiFi network (personal and library laptops)
2. Quick Print Stations (from 1st floor to 4th floor)
The print queue displays requests for approximately 1 hour.
NOTE: a document sent from the 3rd floor “Quick Print” station to the Black and White/ WiFi Printer displays as Express Print 03.
Job Name – Students will often download a document without renaming it. Hence, the “Job Name” may be unrecognizable to the student user.
SO, if you’re helping a patron find their document on the print queue, look for the approximate ‘time’ the print job was sent and the “Owner” column. Reminder – laptops checked out from “Research Commons” are assigned a number and this number will appear as part of the “Owner” name.
