Laptop Checkout – New Procedures and Need for Security

Laptop carts and shelving holding the laptop bags have now been placed  along the north wall, behind the service counter to make it quicker and easier for Student Assistants to check out/in the laptops. To reinforce the idea that the secure area behind the service counter is for employees only,  stanchions have been placed (and more are on order) at the entry area where staff enter and exit the service counter area.  Since the laptops are now out in an open area, there is a need for us to all be especially watchful when working at the Research Commons service counter.
