I just heard from a student via IM that the bookstore is temporarily closed today. I called and spoke to a staff member there to clarify the situation. Here’s the 411:

Bookstore is indeed temporarily closed today due to a catastrophic server failure that happened yesterday. Tech folks are working hard on this and expect the server to be back up and the bookstore to re-open this afternoon.

In the meantime, the bookstore is offering a runner service to students. They have set up a table in the lobby of the Student Center, where students can place book order under $10. Books will be retrieved while students wait, and students can pay with cash or credit card.
