Thursday is Welcome Days and the Library Annex 1 is listed as an “Open House” on the University web page. http://www.sfsu.edu/~welcome/openhouse.html

Research Computers number 1-16 will be set up all day for visitors to use without providing a login or password. Our current tri-fold pamphlet is available at the Info Desk.

Please be aware of new students (and their parents) who may wander in looking confused.  Take an opportunity to be proactive, to get up, welcome them to the library and give them a brief but positive run down of the library situation: new library building opening in spring; all services still available; books available by request with 24-hour turn around; study space and computers in Annex 1 open 24 hours.

We’re going to need to get in the habit of doing this sort of “meet and greet” a lot more when the new building opens and this is a good time to start getting comfortable with it.
