This morning, I spent an inordinate amount of time trying to resolve a problem with a renewal of a Guest Account. When we tried to renew and extend the expiration date, the partron’s name didn’t appear. After many calls, we were able to figure out the problem. Whoever created the initial account, entered (an example) “njames, brown” rather than “nbrown, james” i.e. you must enter the last name FIRST, then the first name.
A new ‘Guest Account’ requires step-by-step procedures that are documented in the “Circulations Procedures” binder. I know there are a lot of ‘steps’, but be sure to follow the directions and review your work. Be sure to initial the green registration form after you’ve created an Guest Account – top corner.
