We continue to have frequent problems with PC Reservation, which is our Sign On system. The computers are loosing their connection to the console which results in the students not being able to sign on. Sometimes this happens to just a few computers, sometimes to all of them. If you notice this problem during regular hours, ask one of the Lib IT staff to restart the console computer in the server room. If it’s after hours, the campus security officer can do this. I’ll leave instructions in the server room for them. Other PC Reservation issues, such as inaccurate tracking of time used by a patron, may also be related to the problems we’re having with the console computer.
Tim has been working with Envisionware, the parent company for PC Res on this issue. They are instructing us to configure a new console computer. Tim hopes to have one in place by the end of the week.
