I don’t know who to ask to please inform the night shift librarians when the guard calls in sick. It is now 8:50 PM the Annex is packed and I just found out that we have no security guard. The student CSO is here, but it would have been nice to know we had no other coverage. Can someone please inform us next time? Thank you.
Just a quick reminder to send any Biology students looking for bones to Media Services (LIB 85) — home to all non-print materials! They...
Annex I will always have security coverage at 9:00pm for the identification check-in process. During most evening hours, there are two security employees working the identification check-in process. When there are unexpected absences, there will only be one. However, the student CSO is a representative of the security force and was on duty for the 9:00pm check-in. There was coverage on Thursday night. An additional Security Officer started at 10pm and coverage continued until 8am.
If overnight security coverage is not available, everyone will be notified and the Library Annex will be closed. Before that happens, however, every effort will be made to get security coverage.
FYI: Being employed by the University Police there are many duties required of the Community Service Officers throughout the day and night. The Library Annex is not a stationary post and we’re often requested, by University Police, to perform our responsibilities outside of Annex I. However, there is always a security officer after 10pm and one remains in the Annex until 8:00am.
