This may take some time to getting used to, but whenever you select the ‘home’ icon from any Annex 1 Reference workstation, two windows open – Library Home Page and the “Library Services Points” page.
This can be a bit disorienting, as you’re trying to either get back to a page you’ve worked from , or you just want to get back to the ‘library home page’.
There is a link from the “Library Services Page” under “Links” and “Library Website”, but I don’t think its very prominent.
What do othe people think?
I was on the desk the other day and the fact that 2 pages popped up every time I hit Home tab was just aggravating. I may try just using IE for one and Firefox for the other…i.e Use IE for the Libproj link. If I recall the default is to the Libproj page….if the default could at least go the Library Webpage, that would be far less aggravating. I don’t need to repeatedly see the LibProj page, but I do with the homepage and catalog. I suppose I will get used to it, but I don’t really see the purpose in having the 2 windows pop up every time. More prominent link to the library on the Libproj pages would certainly help. I didn’t see them on first glance when at the desk. It wastes a lot of time having to close all those irrelevant windows/tabs for the Libproj pages. My 2Cents.

The Library Service Points page is an effort to keep everyone on the same page about changes. If we don’t have it come to the screen, people are likely to never remember to look at it.
The default is that BOTH pages come up in tabs (Service points on left tab and Library website on the right tab) and it only takes one click to close the Service Points page. We could have only the Service Points page come up by itself but there would still be one click to bring you to the Library homepage. Or, we could change the order of the pages so that the service points page is hidden but it would still require that one click to close it.
I hope everyone will give this a chance and not be to quick to be critical of it. Yes, it’s aggravating to have the page come up but again, it only takes one click to close it. — One click.
thanks
