Are you getting asked whether patrons can print from their own laptops in Annex I? If so, indicate how frequently the question has come up in the comments below. If you get this question in the future, can you ask the patron how he/she would feel if they were told they had to download and install some software on their laptop to enable printing.
Just a quick reminder to send any Biology students looking for bones to Media Services (LIB 85) — home to all non-print materials! They...
I’ve gotten this question a couple of times, and of course, heard of many more anecdotally. I will ask the next time it comes up, but if we’re going to provide that service, tell us more, Mr. T.
I’ve also been asked this question a few times since we moved to the Annex.
I’ve heard that a few times when we first moved to the annex, but I stopped getting those.
Would the program be for just the printers in the annex, or would they also be for the ones in hss or any other computer lab?
At this point I’m just trying to get a feeling for how much demand there would be for a print from your own laptop option. If possible, we’d try to support printing in HSS as well as Annex I.
i haven’t been asked about laptop printing since we moved to annex 1.
Just to add to the chorus, I too have been asked this question a few times.
Yes, I’ve had the question probably 2 or 3 times since we moved to the annex. I suspect if we offered the service, more people would likely use it.
I get this question on occasion too
I had this question before we moved into the annex when I worked an occasional hr. at the info desk. It was maybe 2 or 3 times a semester. After we moved into annex 1, I was only on the desk for 1 hr./wk, but still got the occasional question about printing from laptop. I usually told them to email the file to themselves, then open the email on one of our desktop computers, and print from there.
