Where is Reserve Services?
Books and other materials on course reserve are located at the Book Checkout & Pickup Counter on the 1st Floor of the Library. Reserve materials are housed in a closed stack area (no browsing).
How do I Locate Readings put on Reserve?
How do I Checkout Readings put on Reserve?
To check out material, present the call numbers and course information with your SF State OneCard ID at the Book Checkout & Pickup Counter on the 1st Floor. Your checkout limit is 3 reserve titles, at one time, in the same subject area. However, you may request 3 titles in another subject as well. Return reserve materials to the checkout counter or by putting them into the book return slot labeled "Reserve Materials Only" at the end of the Book Checkout & Pickup Counter. When the Library is closed, reserve materials may be placed in one of the book return bins outside the Library entrances.
What are the Check Out Periods?
The check out periods for reserve materials are: 2-hours, 24-hours or 48-hours.
Reserve loans begin at the date/time materials are checked out. Reserve materials are due on the date/time stamped on the date due slip.
There is no Grace Period.
Can I Renew Readings put on Reserve?
Reserve materials may not be renewed.
What are the Fees for Overdue, Damaged or Lost Books?
You must note the date/time stamped on the date/due slip for each item checked out. To avoid overdue fees, return materials to Book Checkout & Pickup Counter by the due date/time.
- $1.00 per hour per item for hour-based loans ( 2-hrs & 24-hrs )
- $1.00 per day per item for day-based loans (48-hrs )
The maximum fee per item is $25.00. Fees accrue only for the hours Reserve Services is open.
Damaged Book Fee: varies depending upon the degree of damage to the book.
Lost Book Fee: $60.00 ( Processing fee $20.00 and replacement fee $40.00)
